Since I last posted here much has happened in my life. We have moved house, I have ditched hair dye and grown out my grey hair, my daughter got married, my son moved out of home due to relocating for work and now we are busy renovating the new house. I don't get much crafting time but today I took a bit of time out and made this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaKXuh8-sPJOqXJWfLtdPKeDNjvFSlEcUyMJMdGTeZjO4Q5bXffCbKXpcFhTNyNNBtbwxz8jffJ88-i048kx1XODzsaZkdWfTWfA7edHKNt5MhuRu4BFg49AwG0XP88WHjLZunMaoz9hA/s1600/George.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhaKXuh8-sPJOqXJWfLtdPKeDNjvFSlEcUyMJMdGTeZjO4Q5bXffCbKXpcFhTNyNNBtbwxz8jffJ88-i048kx1XODzsaZkdWfTWfA7edHKNt5MhuRu4BFg49AwG0XP88WHjLZunMaoz9hA/s320/George.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And I thoroughly enjoyed myself! The image is Surfing Miles by Kraftin Kimmie Stamps, coloured with ProMarkers. The sea foam is chunky embossing powder which I added before die cutting the George (Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Label) - big mistake as it got slightly crushed, oops. Note to self, die cut first! The sun and clouds are Taylored Expressions.<br />
<br />
Thanks for coming to visit and I hope it won't be too long before I'm back with another card.<br />
<br />
I would like to enter this card into these challenges:<br />

This one I have titled 'the Easter Egg hunt'.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIPHoG76rDXpBxw-39qa58DqVfQUAhb2KhTfOs2UfhOvOhAu89GCaTAfLVAuSXtWJIlc5a27FSZVW0RsXJx5BKMF0QJGa5lzlSVFMt7YqJoCkZVU1fXx3g1me6YtEob5YBeIf9-MaD7Tw/s1600/EH1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1152" data-original-width="1534" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIPHoG76rDXpBxw-39qa58DqVfQUAhb2KhTfOs2UfhOvOhAu89GCaTAfLVAuSXtWJIlc5a27FSZVW0RsXJx5BKMF0QJGa5lzlSVFMt7YqJoCkZVU1fXx3g1me6YtEob5YBeIf9-MaD7Tw/s320/EH1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used a page from the same old ruined book to make the background. The flowers are stitched with embroidery thread. I made the little basket with string and the little eggs are made with the same mold as previously. This time I used foil on them to make them look shiny just like real Easter eggs.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBYB1keE1k5MZhwCjxFZQbd_0CsxwpWo6qosc3OLdvWEOgH0HtE6S1uuXniD7190YLSDZvpLQahyphenhyphenL8781ZYrcY8TRh1vocKlxdgo8zUnZkd2jgOGlcdtCUMpoCzGEJgSUhNSYCKPMOLzo/s1600/EH2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1058" data-original-width="1410" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBYB1keE1k5MZhwCjxFZQbd_0CsxwpWo6qosc3OLdvWEOgH0HtE6S1uuXniD7190YLSDZvpLQahyphenhyphenL8781ZYrcY8TRh1vocKlxdgo8zUnZkd2jgOGlcdtCUMpoCzGEJgSUhNSYCKPMOLzo/s320/EH2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And here's the complete set<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfuZcwgvEUkMNB_NNFUpypS0rr-rADaUKBeG1V5wGAx6WLuSZ9DOOh6wfx9FP1EHtCJZLCE6Cc0o0kaCxr4KC4j-H44kSGim0_il9FuQRQrdM8Ng5BTxUO1JC5Cy2kqUWnsu1vSwZKigQ/s1600/EH4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfuZcwgvEUkMNB_NNFUpypS0rr-rADaUKBeG1V5wGAx6WLuSZ9DOOh6wfx9FP1EHtCJZLCE6Cc0o0kaCxr4KC4j-H44kSGim0_il9FuQRQrdM8Ng5BTxUO1JC5Cy2kqUWnsu1vSwZKigQ/s320/EH4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My next project is to knit (well, try to!) some Easter chicks. If I get it right I'll pop in here to show you. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyHUlu2EQAeEew3pNSnqYxTygoPXIiwNQASrd_7Nk1fj6PFlGdNMrfi-Ef1oAzNey8mjKIyTeNQHnIwYd0ex0r2TvFL-61g7JkC9hB91yOuGySQbvY17L8YHDpwCHwoeXTOs_akECRchY/s1600/EB1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyHUlu2EQAeEew3pNSnqYxTygoPXIiwNQASrd_7Nk1fj6PFlGdNMrfi-Ef1oAzNey8mjKIyTeNQHnIwYd0ex0r2TvFL-61g7JkC9hB91yOuGySQbvY17L8YHDpwCHwoeXTOs_akECRchY/s320/EB1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
The gift box was cut with a Lawn Fawn tiny gift box die, I really love this die, it's so useful!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfaCzAI73UzqMyy4FZ9S6k7p4-dMveKNSS4PT8BqGHMBzOjFn0J-GeymoO5ksI8HXD-RCt45uPifIbzOwk8Z3_CYv70M1TGmrlPSwVCy_9Xwx2fr3mv02IrMZ48peHtANx3IFmnchHQ-4/s1600/EB8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfaCzAI73UzqMyy4FZ9S6k7p4-dMveKNSS4PT8BqGHMBzOjFn0J-GeymoO5ksI8HXD-RCt45uPifIbzOwk8Z3_CYv70M1TGmrlPSwVCy_9Xwx2fr3mv02IrMZ48peHtANx3IFmnchHQ-4/s320/EB8.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The first box I decorated was this one with a nest and little eggs. The nest is made from wound up string, the miniature eggs were made using a Mod Podge Mod Melts mold - which I've owned for years and never used! I guess every crafter has things stashed away for a rainy day lol! I added a beautiful feather and a torn piece of a book page. I hate the thought of tearing up a book but thankfully this book was already water damaged and had been rescued from the rubbish bin.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcUXeahjPEJ2yv3QZAPK5-VvRxHDXypziIZvZSL9MVIJH0Ce2uetT8wMq6N0d-rgx5SPFkpZbVNiGlsFh3U0DyihacmWm0tAYRJI8XPxaaxc2dm4BFRi66cggu-VwnkjwPjKuw8E6F9VI/s1600/EB5.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcUXeahjPEJ2yv3QZAPK5-VvRxHDXypziIZvZSL9MVIJH0Ce2uetT8wMq6N0d-rgx5SPFkpZbVNiGlsFh3U0DyihacmWm0tAYRJI8XPxaaxc2dm4BFRi66cggu-VwnkjwPjKuw8E6F9VI/s320/EB5.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Inspired by the outcome of my first box, I decided to make a second.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9Ij0qvY0RRkV6EOkyiR3tMlYNM4R8dFdb0xbxOJm8alqR1C_Lti8JibSsyRD8taqL4BgA2YHOCeJfULIF08PEgBkqHitIa0xMCXKBKpSlp9Rm375MfR0UoSvF4vBh-2AcAiH5LmVjkao/s1600/EB7.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9Ij0qvY0RRkV6EOkyiR3tMlYNM4R8dFdb0xbxOJm8alqR1C_Lti8JibSsyRD8taqL4BgA2YHOCeJfULIF08PEgBkqHitIa0xMCXKBKpSlp9Rm375MfR0UoSvF4vBh-2AcAiH5LmVjkao/s320/EB7.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
For this box I cut the rabbit with a an Impression Obsession die - it's such a cute die! I made a miniature pompom because all bunnies need a fluffy tail lol and I made the carrot with Fimo clay and some embroidery thread for the leaves.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDM8ae7fCfntd270S3_ozOIMvtBC5Z685-NOjyBBoXKlJR-uUUe1VSu5xIbaipNcl8nKgUoTXu2fvoZk-8hbGhU-TYFmoB2p-cOdLZLL1spFrSr1I5gpdVJ6Dap5_p5wIiyEorXvAu33I/s1600/EB6.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDM8ae7fCfntd270S3_ozOIMvtBC5Z685-NOjyBBoXKlJR-uUUe1VSu5xIbaipNcl8nKgUoTXu2fvoZk-8hbGhU-TYFmoB2p-cOdLZLL1spFrSr1I5gpdVJ6Dap5_p5wIiyEorXvAu33I/s320/EB6.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I plan to fill them with mini eggs<br />

I've had my surf shack die for quite a while but being the procrastinator that I am, I hadn't got around to using it so I was grateful for the push. So without further ado, here is my surf shack<br />

<br />
I used a couple extra dies (courtesy of my friend). Starfish and shell are Marianne and the green plants are Sizzix Tiny Tattered Florals. This is a really amazing die as you can make a variety of flowers. I was so impressed with it that I have since ordered my own.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm8SIDNg_HZVJEnyuybF-E-_3_XKYfGnrgeTnBIteHcOrWA7WK1l0HqDlz4AdZWjaRMxuisnLMCPi3UwVUk7D7rBQ8qMskqTHdMsmUEFO1mlCWmPOYdFlnQoB_NIYIeIIJtp0nl1QUCNg/s1600/surf3.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm8SIDNg_HZVJEnyuybF-E-_3_XKYfGnrgeTnBIteHcOrWA7WK1l0HqDlz4AdZWjaRMxuisnLMCPi3UwVUk7D7rBQ8qMskqTHdMsmUEFO1mlCWmPOYdFlnQoB_NIYIeIIJtp0nl1QUCNg/s320/surf3.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I just love those green plants!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNr8cMo2Glu5uBI-bYKVzL5KYZDeD-piCJtMo3fe7fQDd_HzGehr81ErZGW5QVVZK28XANYUMAdiy2627cA-yOXHE6WGino1xGsMXPhWSL8YJHb26K3MrKR8eMHkwf3NypjASTNtm-WNs/s1600/surf2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNr8cMo2Glu5uBI-bYKVzL5KYZDeD-piCJtMo3fe7fQDd_HzGehr81ErZGW5QVVZK28XANYUMAdiy2627cA-yOXHE6WGino1xGsMXPhWSL8YJHb26K3MrKR8eMHkwf3NypjASTNtm-WNs/s320/surf2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I then decided to add something<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrlX31-VPgRFDKgD1R6ffAF9EwP2nFwAzYeSlZVqz6-bxa7brjz5LlCZXI_EC69kj4o3wlbcd2bFFP2SSCK-pLIZutzL7dw0WHDdsbBPzn4x16z8Ggdo7WQ05PHhfurdamp97Y4SPWteM/s1600/surf4.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrlX31-VPgRFDKgD1R6ffAF9EwP2nFwAzYeSlZVqz6-bxa7brjz5LlCZXI_EC69kj4o3wlbcd2bFFP2SSCK-pLIZutzL7dw0WHDdsbBPzn4x16z8Ggdo7WQ05PHhfurdamp97Y4SPWteM/s320/surf4.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

I can't believe that it has been over a year since I last posted on here. As you all know well, life can get pretty hectic and one doesn't always get much time to do the things they love.<br />
But recently I did get to make a card for a very special person's birthday. It was quite interesting because that person actually left a message on my blog a few days ago about her coming to visit and never seeing anything new. So Lin, this one's for you!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzqJGHwb5atGJ0xofhLfgjfd9apG-l7v87saUbBHglwRaHor0RhfHvvglogiFPOf854VH91bjI8P6HmycLOnrb_mgztloLenZ-N_C6xv8LH7IICHuHKCRFxSKR6HkQWDO_mKq17A9rliA/s1600/Lin1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzqJGHwb5atGJ0xofhLfgjfd9apG-l7v87saUbBHglwRaHor0RhfHvvglogiFPOf854VH91bjI8P6HmycLOnrb_mgztloLenZ-N_C6xv8LH7IICHuHKCRFxSKR6HkQWDO_mKq17A9rliA/s320/Lin1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The stamp I used was Holly Wreath Tilda but I cut off the wreath and added a Melissa Frances mini frame instead.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzxf3E8E87zw4NSSoFVYqXyLw5__cswXJZ70VMc3iJ4lWXgBTUAogZ8ixuktqvl3BpvTRarkyn1JNqPhIuSZwIXaB0dnkdWgO-aE6jk2vJVWlVPZWMZgXLJIaNrkcVNjJbIJM9G9xxW9k/s1600/Lin6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzxf3E8E87zw4NSSoFVYqXyLw5__cswXJZ70VMc3iJ4lWXgBTUAogZ8ixuktqvl3BpvTRarkyn1JNqPhIuSZwIXaB0dnkdWgO-aE6jk2vJVWlVPZWMZgXLJIaNrkcVNjJbIJM9G9xxW9k/s320/Lin6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The background brick wall is an Impression Obsession cover a card stamp and I added a die cut window frame. The foliage is a DooHickey die and a Martha Stewart punch.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ2RIHun2rTRn2SmBDsCrRuF5a_QQoUWVOWHpcXDyFxB_1UgFnB2H3qgR4KUnNEQqfj7RsAHx9XQ9f5aZDsPYwBiDy_M0iGCelXzyz89UjwvjnXH0_pzVW9uJEI0pSTN0VDSW98WJMklQ/s1600/Lin4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ2RIHun2rTRn2SmBDsCrRuF5a_QQoUWVOWHpcXDyFxB_1UgFnB2H3qgR4KUnNEQqfj7RsAHx9XQ9f5aZDsPYwBiDy_M0iGCelXzyz89UjwvjnXH0_pzVW9uJEI0pSTN0VDSW98WJMklQ/s320/Lin4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And because Linda has two cats, her craft room wouldn't be complete with without them!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLoIcgq4GFXtO0IKCfO-8aQSNruNHdcx1pJj9Dy8ZzXxgqful-wiEz8ee0wOpCUIHGaqkn4QjVB8uzxI34R7KOSpGQ6Mpw9njbMm2AvPVCPK_rawLv-QnGsHRyxkkWYWcuBYrfWhNlD7M/s1600/Lin2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLoIcgq4GFXtO0IKCfO-8aQSNruNHdcx1pJj9Dy8ZzXxgqful-wiEz8ee0wOpCUIHGaqkn4QjVB8uzxI34R7KOSpGQ6Mpw9njbMm2AvPVCPK_rawLv-QnGsHRyxkkWYWcuBYrfWhNlD7M/s320/Lin2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And look, she's already received a birthday card from a secret admirer!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLO51IRpHwWN7qlPS7bOSGA9ByW1NWr8p4GMVLBh_QTw3LUx4zWrXCSKnQxPYWTr_rH2QYfOUnFYNI85xyC-aeiySOIuxZM6X25G4xnkowTPNF0gsxoJ6M-jGoqJ68FLLp3XqKEoaKXdw/s1600/Lin3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLO51IRpHwWN7qlPS7bOSGA9ByW1NWr8p4GMVLBh_QTw3LUx4zWrXCSKnQxPYWTr_rH2QYfOUnFYNI85xyC-aeiySOIuxZM6X25G4xnkowTPNF0gsxoJ6M-jGoqJ68FLLp3XqKEoaKXdw/s320/Lin3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

Once again it's been a while. I really must pop in here more often! It's not that I haven't been carding, I just haven't been blogging.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqYMPNB3FFwcp4gx90-yWQOIKV23WGyctkANOKmzdqs1VFxOU4Vm6JYagcjgZUUL3VPe-hpSsk2ovyDlgS2ih3ih-dA1boOIKnAMKqq148k5fnwhKTNIoT6XWI0-TRG04VUPtc8WwyT20/s1600/4g.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqYMPNB3FFwcp4gx90-yWQOIKV23WGyctkANOKmzdqs1VFxOU4Vm6JYagcjgZUUL3VPe-hpSsk2ovyDlgS2ih3ih-dA1boOIKnAMKqq148k5fnwhKTNIoT6XWI0-TRG04VUPtc8WwyT20/s1600/4g.JPG" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is my latest card which I made using a Cherry Tilda stamp, I changed it slightly by making my own fruit which I stuck over the cherries. I filled a little glass bottle with beads and 'fruit slices' (nail art from Poundland) to resemble an ice cold fruit juice. I originally had the little cork stopper in the bottle:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO7ugm9A6iFlT8goTKvcnkD3WNEQQ5PvWEtNFNE58NYmeK-gmAQnmxcklg0-_8LLPWD_pouWn13nx4TzDlcKV8_UeML5lEzPj1lPx6LIHbRUdkzfQSM0FrpSOheHs9kfF7FSefkyED8yw/s1600/4aFruit.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO7ugm9A6iFlT8goTKvcnkD3WNEQQ5PvWEtNFNE58NYmeK-gmAQnmxcklg0-_8LLPWD_pouWn13nx4TzDlcKV8_UeML5lEzPj1lPx6LIHbRUdkzfQSM0FrpSOheHs9kfF7FSefkyED8yw/s1600/4aFruit.JPG" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
But I felt that it looked a little medicinal, what do you think?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2p85zsT0tH7hZ_uUKndHCOwDhX99JbHxbo1cTGQz1hXjymOYt_Vi1kz6BARRXC1b8Cfthk0vLsbwKrCgIl-QwAp3Z8iD_KTakqdlUixOOQz1XhDRCeJaqu-OiaKjf11fGPFh2ZVcstpk/s1600/4cFruit.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2p85zsT0tH7hZ_uUKndHCOwDhX99JbHxbo1cTGQz1hXjymOYt_Vi1kz6BARRXC1b8Cfthk0vLsbwKrCgIl-QwAp3Z8iD_KTakqdlUixOOQz1XhDRCeJaqu-OiaKjf11fGPFh2ZVcstpk/s1600/4cFruit.JPG" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
So I changed it for a half pearl and I think it looks better.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAE50jBfDTtngHtAr5VoawoiRAIJHLTsFOrv53OabJYscWaqM8SFP_FsLj9PScl-Gb8rYFnxKjeJqtiQbhjZ916oXFGo-Iif18qFBzRWBpAwxcnuKRG52aiRpnzvI5qNZuv_l6z6em-mU/s1600/4h.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAE50jBfDTtngHtAr5VoawoiRAIJHLTsFOrv53OabJYscWaqM8SFP_FsLj9PScl-Gb8rYFnxKjeJqtiQbhjZ916oXFGo-Iif18qFBzRWBpAwxcnuKRG52aiRpnzvI5qNZuv_l6z6em-mU/s1600/4h.JPG" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I used more 'fruit slices' on the sentiment<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBFb_z2djSoeWP29Szp-Bmza4Lm5Nq7nmkD8pMyjDL9S82Ec5Ik3NqyUnZNP48FBthKYEvuSZ_JPHFajsBms46o0qrxb-gz_bQo6GBmJ_Yby0SjSktcW7BCSYld3pFZlndBFEMLnxdj9g/s1600/4bFruit.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBFb_z2djSoeWP29Szp-Bmza4Lm5Nq7nmkD8pMyjDL9S82Ec5Ik3NqyUnZNP48FBthKYEvuSZ_JPHFajsBms46o0qrxb-gz_bQo6GBmJ_Yby0SjSktcW7BCSYld3pFZlndBFEMLnxdj9g/s1600/4bFruit.JPG" height="239" width="320" /></a></div>

Challenge 1 - 2014<span style="font-size: large;">Our family card challenge took a break over the festive season but has begun again!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">For those new to my blog, the family card challenge came about because two of my sisters in law also enjoy making cards and we thought it would be fun to start a weekly card making challenge. Last year another sister in law joined the group. Only one sister in law has a blog, you can see her beautiful work <a href="http://www.craftyafrican.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">here</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">So back to the first challenge of the year. Sister in law M sent us each this lovely paper</span><br />

This year (actually towards the end of last year) I decided to Google and find a heart swap to take part in. That's when I came across Cheryll's lovely blog and her <a href="http://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/valentines-day-love.html" target="_blank">Initial Heart Swap</a>. I signed up and awaited details of my secret partner - Lynn from <a href="http://www.happinessiscrossstitching.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/an-exchange-has-arrived-and-my-peacock.html#more" target="_blank">Happiness Is Cross Stitching</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">As Lynn has now received her swap, I can reveal what I made. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I knew from the start that I wanted to make a crochet heart as I love to crochet (not that I do that much of it but see <a href="http://www.amandalovesafrica.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/bright-crochet-bag.html" target="_blank">here</a> and <a href="http://www.amandalovesafrica.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/crochet-update.html" target="_blank">here</a>).</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPq0khu_ahwjJJ00dya33A9mkXOI4hZfPkucBy3rw_oaLWTphQ5nvAexg9ud4vYQKFTP6C5wEddZ3PjDz3u6FpfkwgBx4sqPRM97rpmOM3xaogzR-CIw_n2doFAb5daCMmR77HOx3vw5Y/s1600/HPIM0382.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPq0khu_ahwjJJ00dya33A9mkXOI4hZfPkucBy3rw_oaLWTphQ5nvAexg9ud4vYQKFTP6C5wEddZ3PjDz3u6FpfkwgBx4sqPRM97rpmOM3xaogzR-CIw_n2doFAb5daCMmR77HOx3vw5Y/s1600/HPIM0382.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Now as it was an 'Initial' Heart Swap I had to add my partner's initial to it. I first thought about using an initialled bead but didn't really know where I would put it. Then I realised that Lynn was a cross stitcher and so decided to x stitch her initial onto ribbon and use that as the leaves. Lynn, I hope you approve of my x stitch skills!</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZrRdqAkMNVguxZd-MiZ5gVnCRBGBZAHruBaJ_1RPFiLfIK3_WAFV9bty9gOI4ID4wNhfF3g1KpsGfoN4l6_9YgPkRStVtDJ3eG6KXgRoIzXYme1t2-LQe2knN5tUKm4njhTANVeGtfjo/s1600/HPIM0383.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZrRdqAkMNVguxZd-MiZ5gVnCRBGBZAHruBaJ_1RPFiLfIK3_WAFV9bty9gOI4ID4wNhfF3g1KpsGfoN4l6_9YgPkRStVtDJ3eG6KXgRoIzXYme1t2-LQe2knN5tUKm4njhTANVeGtfjo/s1600/HPIM0383.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">All packaged up with a hand made label! You'll notice in later pics that I decided to stamp Lynn's name onto the tag.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmyjfCLnB2XSP8H6M9CpRp0aKqozu4Kx8jpjxWufXCuaMWqZn47yZ4I1ItQHomlKHxHW7v9Vb-FQGJJF2Mcq6yfxypBZk9RrpENIkEl8yQF-zWfA2KkrV7dPM4B3gPLNcKq_7gQ3H42Zk/s1600/HPIM0394.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmyjfCLnB2XSP8H6M9CpRp0aKqozu4Kx8jpjxWufXCuaMWqZn47yZ4I1ItQHomlKHxHW7v9Vb-FQGJJF2Mcq6yfxypBZk9RrpENIkEl8yQF-zWfA2KkrV7dPM4B3gPLNcKq_7gQ3H42Zk/s1600/HPIM0394.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Another requirement of the swap was to send your partner a chocolate/a sweet. I bought a bag of chocolate hearts and repackaged them, sealing the bag with a hand made tag. I sealed it shut with row of zig zag stitching that I wanted to look like grass but look closely, I had stitched it with the zig zags pointing down!!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSlTHf_VqTWaTvgZ3f6amLJ2SoJQBVGFCBkWG4EGvEtWtEWAD-H24cXibMzy0Lr1dDZMUOStIcVqU4P0Y5tGrZBDeWbBPMLzgYbCTOJhrTRb3LIIVVb6uGetqAktVggD43sqIAL82ZoEA/s1600/swap.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSlTHf_VqTWaTvgZ3f6amLJ2SoJQBVGFCBkWG4EGvEtWtEWAD-H24cXibMzy0Lr1dDZMUOStIcVqU4P0Y5tGrZBDeWbBPMLzgYbCTOJhrTRb3LIIVVb6uGetqAktVggD43sqIAL82ZoEA/s1600/swap.JPG" height="320" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I just couldn't leave it like that so I redid it - much better!</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-BcsMJdW7izzEi1_ufeZWu8Fm93G01SnkQJaB0rxoDz4geU-aDbDgNUYCfig5x4N1svaTMXShoJ-PJ9ytq-gbZ6u1ts51jKuf_hJ5JNckqL2dQV-9ppxyU8nXT05-121yiTHRio4wF_w/s1600/HPIM0399.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-BcsMJdW7izzEi1_ufeZWu8Fm93G01SnkQJaB0rxoDz4geU-aDbDgNUYCfig5x4N1svaTMXShoJ-PJ9ytq-gbZ6u1ts51jKuf_hJ5JNckqL2dQV-9ppxyU8nXT05-121yiTHRio4wF_w/s1600/HPIM0399.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I was having so much fun with my swap that I decided to add a couple of extras - one of them was an idea I had had for a while but had never gotten around to doing. I painted an empty little honey jar lid green and stuck on a hand made rose and filled the jar with pink, white and green buttons.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirYWFIPszbK16_rYd8XQarBpqTYlGC7mL46vRWra4gepYdyMA2UyZb-b7U812gMFhq86sByYCy6ZN547ZhxbBi7MKbdKVk0TlhNyZM0zLkT8LjkkG_LTiCTAvH7rETZTbHqxUmfwdRRs8/s1600/HPIM0395.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirYWFIPszbK16_rYd8XQarBpqTYlGC7mL46vRWra4gepYdyMA2UyZb-b7U812gMFhq86sByYCy6ZN547ZhxbBi7MKbdKVk0TlhNyZM0zLkT8LjkkG_LTiCTAvH7rETZTbHqxUmfwdRRs8/s1600/HPIM0395.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF0mBk4n-r3a5E5cY35HCVQJ5Fcp80MpiaTKzYNVkBD44zfNoaEw4myh6QX2F2yfetC9KYnQwdnh030V0gilIPovzyXAWKR-2oY9lCvdCBCdKCtew8Tv1_MloL8KfxOR_Sg75_c5oU4is/s1600/HPIM0411.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF0mBk4n-r3a5E5cY35HCVQJ5Fcp80MpiaTKzYNVkBD44zfNoaEw4myh6QX2F2yfetC9KYnQwdnh030V0gilIPovzyXAWKR-2oY9lCvdCBCdKCtew8Tv1_MloL8KfxOR_Sg75_c5oU4is/s1600/HPIM0411.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And since I enjoy making cards, I made a card to go with it</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIZbPX_CNTQ7Hvblkre1OY68MfHYLFw91e8XIuMqZXqkDYvR4unDZhMg_VD3sQf3ZO7HEs7OfeqKyd_p88Kja8jxvnHr75dpXmvP2r817jyh_R9R4i3JPxwl0ib-baMwbAZD3genOsmuM/s1600/HPIM0407.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIZbPX_CNTQ7Hvblkre1OY68MfHYLFw91e8XIuMqZXqkDYvR4unDZhMg_VD3sQf3ZO7HEs7OfeqKyd_p88Kja8jxvnHr75dpXmvP2r817jyh_R9R4i3JPxwl0ib-baMwbAZD3genOsmuM/s1600/HPIM0407.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Finally I packaged it all up and sent it off to Lynn</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxIF0E7d3h6ZDUmIG1OcQD6yk9v__mrF7DeFYLeuuYABvMDTgcgBxwqQZ-UJ2aCP15jAFaF9qGHlCq_C8OVBFqydYyAbEzqAJ5rIvvVdNNwd0hJNhbzCCf7-xA9sFtmRjQJ22BKdQpyPY/s1600/HPIM0421.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxIF0E7d3h6ZDUmIG1OcQD6yk9v__mrF7DeFYLeuuYABvMDTgcgBxwqQZ-UJ2aCP15jAFaF9qGHlCq_C8OVBFqydYyAbEzqAJ5rIvvVdNNwd0hJNhbzCCf7-xA9sFtmRjQJ22BKdQpyPY/s1600/HPIM0421.JPG" height="238" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Lynn, I'm so glad you liked it! It was an absolute pleasure putting it together for you.</span><br />

See my previous attempt <a href="http://www.amandalovesafrica.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/make-fill-your-own-christmas-crackers.html" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<br />
I found some nice, part assembled fill your own crackers at <a href="http://www.johnlewis.com/" target="_blank">John Lewis</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmCCB6nzlY9GX-mogYS1fvYrzagthrs6XKuMThkqRiCQN5HVCpHHCFfZyMg9bH7_wVGVQLLmJvMUImHI8T-31sJhucLs4NYHMauhCsrI-oLojoeqDtnO7oXDxOBctknBwtH10NfA5yYAE/s1600/HPIM0353.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmCCB6nzlY9GX-mogYS1fvYrzagthrs6XKuMThkqRiCQN5HVCpHHCFfZyMg9bH7_wVGVQLLmJvMUImHI8T-31sJhucLs4NYHMauhCsrI-oLojoeqDtnO7oXDxOBctknBwtH10NfA5yYAE/s320/HPIM0353.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
But when they arrived I felt they were a little too plain <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQXi95szw6c_vrzNjMAzdc9VjzM4Q9_kpa8zC5wuT9jgjj9D75R0McjoX3kecuwt-ugY8ohJrm6yoOz5mkivj39o7l_XgKHC16ifL6doa6Oag2DzZCmdVH9A6jaDd8m6h-jz5Xk5DeMLs/s1600/HPIM0355.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQXi95szw6c_vrzNjMAzdc9VjzM4Q9_kpa8zC5wuT9jgjj9D75R0McjoX3kecuwt-ugY8ohJrm6yoOz5mkivj39o7l_XgKHC16ifL6doa6Oag2DzZCmdVH9A6jaDd8m6h-jz5Xk5DeMLs/s320/HPIM0355.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
So while filling them with some carefully selected chocolates, I decided to add a little sparkle with glittery snowflakes, shiny ribbon and some glitter glue<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4XqZadiUZZZ-dHILxzxLAoL2eHJ5K4iMwOXe2O4uc9EOfh-z8ZqQCxvM6W__Kg_5jhASiLOR_Ui1nMCrStrumHLJimMmm0J6q4nrgFZeFGdnvv2pDOvEX7uADVo-HZNj4D6vYdNr9zkY/s1600/HPIM0363.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4XqZadiUZZZ-dHILxzxLAoL2eHJ5K4iMwOXe2O4uc9EOfh-z8ZqQCxvM6W__Kg_5jhASiLOR_Ui1nMCrStrumHLJimMmm0J6q4nrgFZeFGdnvv2pDOvEX7uADVo-HZNj4D6vYdNr9zkY/s320/HPIM0363.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The result<br />

I shall try to update my blog on a weekly basis from now on.<br />
<br />
The challenge this week was Balloons and here's my card:<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0dIDgsy2hUN9Zm_duVBazbEiHU1gtn5ai2BmG2bLd6Q8wkiuDgityLn1fmJqY5_TjYGW5Tm7023M4p-AkW79LnL50gr0DErN9Qt1dgUYZ9MA0meZea_pO9zfBnifrqrzkrAEJvBWwEzw/s1600/A23.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0dIDgsy2hUN9Zm_duVBazbEiHU1gtn5ai2BmG2bLd6Q8wkiuDgityLn1fmJqY5_TjYGW5Tm7023M4p-AkW79LnL50gr0DErN9Qt1dgUYZ9MA0meZea_pO9zfBnifrqrzkrAEJvBWwEzw/s320/A23.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Made for my niece who turned 8. I used an Elzybells stamp and some punched balloons which I tried to make more 3D by folding in half and then sticking them together.<br />
