Carding Again!

Well it certainly has been a while! Since I last posted here much has happened in my life.  We have moved house, I have ditched hair dye and grown out my grey hair, my daughter got married, my son moved out of home due to relocating for work and now we are busy renovating the new house. I don't get much crafting time but today I took a bit of time out and made this:

And I thoroughly enjoyed myself! The image is Surfing Miles by Kraftin Kimmie Stamps, coloured with ProMarkers. The sea foam is chunky embossing powder which I added before die cutting the George (Tim Holtz Alphanumeric Label) - big mistake as it got slightly crushed, oops. Note to self, die cut first! The sun and clouds are Taylored Expressions.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope it won't be too long before I'm back with another card.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:

Easter Boxes Continued!

Well I finally made my third mini box!  This one I have titled 'the Easter Egg hunt'.

I used a page from the same old ruined book to make the background.  The flowers are stitched with embroidery thread.  I made the little basket with string and the little eggs are made with the same mold as previously.  This time I used foil on them to make them look shiny just like real Easter eggs.

And here's the complete set

My next project is to knit (well, try to!) some Easter chicks.  If I get it right I'll pop in here to show you.

Thanks for coming to visit!

Easter Boxes

I had a lovely play time this week making a couple of little gift boxes for Easter.

The gift box was cut with a Lawn Fawn tiny gift box die, I really love this die, it's so useful!

The first box I decorated was this one with a nest and little eggs.  The nest is made from wound up string, the miniature eggs were made using a Mod Podge Mod Melts mold - which I've owned for years and never used! I guess every crafter has things stashed away for a rainy day lol! I added a beautiful feather and a torn piece of a book page.  I hate the thought of tearing up a book but thankfully this book was already water damaged and had been rescued from the rubbish bin.

Inspired by the outcome of my first box, I decided to make a second.

For this box I cut the rabbit with a an Impression Obsession die - it's such a cute die! I made a miniature pompom because all bunnies need a fluffy tail lol and I made the carrot with Fimo clay and some embroidery thread for the leaves.

I plan to fill them with mini eggs

I'm now thinking about a third box.  Hopefully I'll be back soon.....thanks for stopping by!

Welcome to my Surf Shack!

I recently spent a lovely crafty morning at a friend's house where we worked on making surf shacks.  I've had my surf shack die for quite a while but being the procrastinator that I am, I hadn't got around to using it so I was grateful for the push. So without further ado, here is my surf shack

I used a couple extra dies (courtesy of my friend). Starfish and shell are Marianne and the green plants are Sizzix Tiny Tattered Florals.  This is a really amazing die as you can make a variety of flowers. I was so impressed with it that I have since ordered my own.

I just love those green plants!

I then decided to add something

Did you spot it?

Linda's Craft Room

Hello Blog Friends!  I can't believe that it has been over a year since I last posted on here. As you all know well, life can get pretty hectic and one doesn't always get much time to do the things they love.
But recently I did get to make a card for a very special person's birthday.  It was quite interesting because that person actually left a message on my blog a few days ago about her coming to visit and never seeing anything new.  So Lin, this one's for you!

The stamp I used was Holly Wreath Tilda but I cut off the wreath and added a Melissa Frances mini frame instead.

The background brick wall is an Impression Obsession cover a card stamp and I added a die cut window frame. The foliage is a DooHickey die and a Martha Stewart punch.

And because Linda has two cats, her craft room wouldn't be complete with without them!

And look, she's already received a birthday card from a secret admirer!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to update my blog more regularly!

Green and Orange

Hello blog friends! Once again it's been a while.  I really must pop in here more often! It's not that I haven't been carding, I just haven't been blogging.

This is my latest card which I made using a Cherry Tilda stamp, I changed it slightly by making my own fruit which I stuck over the cherries.  I filled a little glass bottle with beads and 'fruit slices' (nail art from Poundland) to resemble an ice cold fruit juice.  I originally had the little cork stopper in the bottle:

But I felt that it looked a little medicinal, what do you think?

So I changed it for a half pearl and I think it looks better.

I used more 'fruit slices' on the sentiment

Aren't they amazing!! They look good enough to eat!

Thanks for stopping by!
