Scarecrow Festival

On Saturday we visited a friend who lives close to the little village of Overton. Every year the village holds a Scarecrow Festival and local residents and shop owners put up scarecrows. Here's just a few that I took pictures of:

Jerry goes swimming

Not much happening here today. Andy Murray is playing tennis at Wimbledon, England Lions are playing cricket against Australia and Jerry is swimming! He has found a rather dirty 'pool' of water to cool off in. When he hops out (pardon the pun!) I'll clean it out so that next time he has a more pleasurable experience.

Busy Bee

It is still so hot here, 32 degrees C today. Looks like our sunflower and this busy little bee are the only ones thriving in this heat.

Meet Jerry Springer...

our newest resident. Rescued from jaws of a cat, he has been given a new home in our back garden. He has the longest, springiest legs and he can really jump far, hence his name. We call him Jerry for short.

I tried to get a photo of those legs in action but he jumped towards me, I got a fright and ended up with a picture of this... nothing!

Birthday Season

It seems that everyone around me is celebrating a birthday. Today it is my elderly neighbor and this is what I got for her.

Cardmaking

I've not done much today. I visited a friend for coffee this morning and ended up staying almost 4 hours.
This afternoon, despite having an ever growing laundry pile and a house that Flylady would NOT be proud of, I felt some creativity coming on so I made this card for my little niece who is turning 4. I'm really pleased with the way it came out. I used Elzybells teddy heart wreath stamp for the teddy (minus the wreath). The flowers and butterfly are foam.

And don't you just love the back? That Elzybells stamp is so cute!

I'm so excited...

I have blog followers!!! Up to now I have had only two followers - my husband and my sister in law. Today I logged in and discovered that I now have four!
So thank you blog followers for making my day and I hope that each and every visit will be an enjoyable one.

Introducing...

My very own rabbit egg cosy! I know it's a bit late for Easter (early for next!!) but at least I actually finished it. I am very good at starting projects and never finishing them. I had some trouble with the face and getting the head to the right shape and even now it is still not perfect but will just have to do as my first attempt. I am privileged to own a one of a kind, original Little Cotton Rabbit - called Albie. Even looking closely at Albie's head for guidance, I still couldn't get it right. I have a new respect for Julie at Little Cotton Rabbits, she has a busy life and yet still manages to produce such gorgeous little knitted animals.

I leave you with this pic.....the words on the egg cup sum it up....Forever Friends!
